TIMES SINGAPORE, JAKARTA – Ahmad Fahrur Rozi, commonly known as Gus Fahrur, the Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), has expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag RI) for their outstanding performance in managing this year's Hajj pilgrimage. He praised their wholehearted dedication and effective service delivery.

In a written statement to TIMES Indonesia on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Gus Fahrur stated, "Alhamdulillah, this year's Hajj implementation has been much better and very satisfying. There were no incidents like the one in Muzdalifah last year." He highlighted that all potential issues were well anticipated. Gus Fahrur particularly commended Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, who served as Amirul Hajj, for his maximum efforts, supported by a highly responsive and dedicated team on the ground.

Gus Fahrur himself was part of the Amirul Hajj team, tasked with ensuring that pilgrims could perform their Hajj rituals properly according to Islamic law. "Ensuring optimal Hajj services, from the technical organization of the pilgrimage to transportation, accommodation, catering, and other technical matters," he explained.

Since June 8, Gus Fahrur has been in Mecca, directly inspecting the pilgrims' lodgings, Arafah tents, facilities in Muzdalifah and Mina, as well as the health services provided to pilgrims in various sectors.

"I happened to be staying at the same location as the Minister of Religious Affairs and the Deputy Minister. I witnessed firsthand how they worked late into the night, continuously coordinating with field officers to ensure smooth services, especially in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina," he said.

Gus Fahrur fully appreciates and thanks them for their hard work. "May their efforts be accepted as good deeds by Allah SWT, and may the services continue to improve in the future," he concluded.

Khalilurrahman's guidance emphasizes the importance of rest and careful planning for pilgrims. By following these recommendations, pilgrims can ensure they complete their Hajj obligations in a state of physical and spiritual well-being, returning home safely and fulfilled.

This advice aligns with the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenag RI) commitment to the well-being of its citizens. The Kemenag RI continues to provide comprehensive support and guidance, ensuring that the pilgrimage experience is both spiritually enriching and physically manageable for all Indonesian pilgrims.
