TIMES SINGAPORE, JAKARTA – Speciality Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI) sent four of their representatives to join World Coffee Championship 2022. Surprisingly, all of the four was able to win the competition and spread a good news across the world about Indonesia.

World Coffee Championship was held on June 23-25, 2022. This competition was held in Milan, Italy. Hundreds of barista from around the world joining the competition to show their skills.

Shayla Philippa, Wisnu Aji, Lonika Tay and Restu Sadam Hasan happens to be the representative from SCAI. Each of them joining one categories from 5 categories the competition provided.

The five categories are World Latte Art Championship (WLAC), World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship (WCIGS), World Cup Tasters Championship (WCTC), World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC), and Cezve/Ibrik Championship (CIC). Unfortunately SCIA didn't sent some representative for CIC.

"Thank you champs, result never betray the effort, becoming one representative from Asia to bring Indonesia on the top at one prestigious world coffee specialty," SCAI wrote on their Instagram on Monday (27/6/2022).

It can't be denied that all the baristas sent to the event was the best of this country. They all managed to put their name on the champs list. We have you the list below:

• Shayla Philippa, 3rd place for World of Coffee In Good Spirits category
• Wisnu Aji, 3rd place for World Coffee Roasting Championship category
• Lonika Tay, semifinalist on World Cup Tasters Championship category
• Restu Sadam Hasan, Post-Secondary Winner for Latte Art Indonesia category which put him as one of 29 world latte art winners for World Latte Art Championship
