TIMES SINGAPORE, JAKARTASubak Hwachae is also known as Korean Watermelon Punch. This refreshing summer dessert will quench your thirst for sure! Besides, it is also high in vitamins, nutrients and water to keep you hydrated. 

This dessert is commonly served during summer in Korea. To make this dessert, you can use watermelon alone or mix it with other summer fruits. Here is the quick recipe to make this refreshing dessert. 

Ingredients: 

  • Watermelon
  • Nata de coco
  • Cocopandan syrup 
  • Full cream milk
  • Soda water
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions: 

  1. Cut the watermelon in half.

  2. Use a melon-baller to scoop out the watermelon.

  3. You can use the watermelon rind as the serving bowl. If you have emptied out the watermelon, you can put all the ingredients into it. 

  4. Add the syrup, full cream milk and soda water. You may also add some vanilla ice cream as the topping. 

  5. You can add some additional toppings, such as candied palm fruits and jelly.
