TIMES SINGAPORE, MALANG – Roaming around Malang wouldn’t be complete without tasting the local delicacies. The city which become one of the biggest city in East Java will pamper your belly with all tasty refreshing and delightful foods and beverages after a long day of travel.

So we have several list of places with good taste of local delicacies. All will satisfy your belly or some will wash a way your thirst in a hot day of summer. So what are those places? Let's check them out.

1. Ketan Legenda

For those wants to taste the delighful taste of glutinous rice, then this is the perfect place for you to go. Just go straight to Alun-alun Batu and you could find the vendor right in one of its corner. It has Pos Ketan Legenda 1967 written on front. But make sure you don't need to rush for it, because you need to take a long line to get this delicious delight.

2. Dodol Apel 

Dodol is just like a toffee but it's made of glutinous rice flour. And Dodol Apel is a toffee with apple essence. Everybody knows that Batu has been well known with its apple. The apple used for the ingredients was the fresh apple taken right from the orchard. This will be a good thing that worth the shot, for a toffee with apple flavour is considered rare and not every place has this kind of delight.

3. Sate Gebug Malang

Sate Gebug is a beef satay which has been smashed a lot during the cooking process. This make the beef has a smooth and tender texture. The process was also meant to make the beef get easily marinated. Some soy sauce will be added before it served makes a perfect combination of tangy ingredients and sweet taste. A set of Sate Gebug could be taken for DR 25 K - IDR 40 K.

4. Es Tawon  

This beverage will be a perfect choice to accompany day in this humid tropical atmosphere. The invigorating and fresh taste of sugar syrup combined with some mung bean, green rice flour jelly, grass jelly, and some fresh slices of tropical fruits and fermented cassava will wash away your thirst after a long walk tour around Malang. A set of this nice delicacy will cost you around IDR 8 K.(*)
