TIMES SINGAPORE, JAKARTA – Aceh known with their delicious special dish that makes the food experts want it so bad and try all their culinary. There’s one dish that already become the favorite of all people in Indonesia and that is Mie Aceh or Aceh Noodle.

This dish usually very unique from it looks and the taste. This is because the cooking methods are much different than any ordinary fried noodle. Aceh noodle never use water during the process that mostly become very dry as a result. The noodle also known as the yellow noodle by the Aceh people because it was the combination between China and India traditions.

So far, there are two types of Mie Aceh. Both of them have the same method as usual. The one what makes it different is dose of the broth itself. This noodle uses different kind of toppings like the beef floss, minced mutton, crabs and many more. Somehow, people often modified and adjust it to fit their taste.

Mie Aceh uses some ground ingredients like cayenne peppers, turmeric, pepper, garlic and cardamom. It doesn’t use egg in the cooking process. However, some of them will add minced shallot or fried onion on top of it before it being served. Some will add some fried peanuts as the topping.

As for now, you could find Mie Aceh all over the country. There has been lots of vendors or restaurant has this kind of dish on their menu. A set of Mie Aceh or Aceh noodle could be enjoyed for IDR 15 K to IDR 35 k. The rich taste distinguishes this noodle with any other noodle you found in the country. (*)
