TIMES SINGAPORE, JAKARTA – Every moslem would like to fast during Ramadhan no matter what their condition, either pregnant woman or those old people who are sick and just laying in bed. Why? It's because they wanted to be closer to their God.

Doctors never forbid pregnant ladies to fast during Ramadhan. However, these ladies need more nutrients than normal people would. Taken from Dokter Sehat here are several suplements that needed by pregnant woman to keep themselves and their bay fit and healthy during Ramadhan.

1. Iron and zinc

Zinc and iron are micronutrients whose requirements increase with pregnancy. Zinc has a major role to keep the immune system. Whereas iron is needed tobe supplement in pregnancy in order to avert anaemia due to pregnancy.

2. Folic acid

Pregnant woman should at least consume 400 mg of folic acid in a day. Folic acid can help prevent birth defects known as neural tube defects, including spina bifida. It may also help prevent cleft lip and cleft palate. All of this was to ensure your baby came out safely and in a perfect condition.

3. Calcium

While you're pregnant, try to get at least 1,000 mg ofcalcium every day. This was needed to support the developing of fetal skeleton of your baby.

Pregnant woman need to take all this supplements daily to support their baby growing in their womb. Keep maintaining to eat nutritious food for you and your baby, and don't force yourself to fast during Ramadhan if you fell you can't. Good Luck!!!.
