TIMES SINGAPORE, MALANG – Fun and challenging educational games continue to emerge. One of them is developed by State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema) Informatics Engineering students Muhammad Ali Zulfikar and Ziedny Bisma Mubarok.

The two developed a game project called "Litter Factory" in partnership with Ariverse Studio.

Litter Factory is a fun co-op game where players become little trash-loving creatures. Players must work together to collect, sort, and recycle trash in an increasingly chaotic and challenging kitchen.

"The game is fun, challenging and funny," Muhammad Ali Zulfikar told TIMES Indonesia on Wednesday (11/7/2024).

In addition, the game also offers players some knowledge about the waste recycling process. As a result, the game entertains as well as educates the players.

Ali and Bisma said the idea for the game came from playing board games at Letsplay Indonesia.

This game was planned as a 2D Pixel Art game in the beginning. However, as time goes by, they decided to turn it into a 3D game.

During the process of development, Ariverse Studio does not work alone. They collaborated with Lets Studio Indonesia who is responsible for the creation of 3D assets for the environment, characters, and other elements in the game.

"This collaboration is crucial to the development of this game. Ariverse Studio focuses on game design and game development, while Let's Studio does the 3D asset creation," he explained.

As with any game development, there were special challenges while developing this educational game. Both had to research by first understanding the process and workings of recycling waste from unused raw materials into useful items.

Ali and Mubarok plan to release the Alpha version on Saturday (07/13/2024). They also have plans to continue developing the Litter Factory game by adding new challenges, more dynamic environments, and more varied levels.

Players can later download this game through this link https://alizul01.itch.io/litter-factory

In addition, they hope that the game developed at this time can be released on the well-known gaming platform, Steam, so that it can reach a larger and wider market.

"We also plan to make this Litter Factory game as our thesis topic at the State Polytechnic of Malang because this project is expected to make a real contribution, not only in the world of games but also in education about environmental awareness," he said.

With a combination of entertaining and educational gameplay, "Litter Factory" has great potential to become a popular game among players. The collaboration between Ariverse Studio and Lets Studio Indonesia shows that the synergy between creativity and technical expertise can lead to an amazing product.

As a game that not only entertains but also educates about the importance of recycling, "Litter Factory" by the students of State Polytechnic of Malang is expected to bring a positive impact to its players, both in the local and international markets. (*)
