TIMES SINGAPORE, BONDOWOSO – During the pandemic, lots of people have suspended their plans for travel event during the holiday. This makes several popular tourist destinations in the country including Ijen Crater of Bondowoso long for a visit.

Though the country has conducted a tier restrictions for some activities outdoor, but they have let the tourist destination to remain open with a tier safety protocol. Including Ijen Crater.

This place remains open during this time after being closed for temporary at the beginning of the pandemic. However, though the government has let this place remain opened with certain requirements, people seems hasn't gotten back their willing to travel.

During this time, Ijen Crater has received a lower surge of visitor. "Ijen Crater could welcome around 500 visitors in a day before ethe pandemic. But now, there are not more than 50 people visiting this place in a day," Purwanto, the Head of BKSDA Conservation area V said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Tourism Department of Bondowoso Arif S Raharjo said that this condition was not only caused by the pandemic, but also the rainy season. "The rain affecting the surge of visitor to this place," he said.

However, he also hope that the surge of visitor to this Ijen Crater with its blue fire will be better in the future. "The visitors must to follow the new rule and safety standard during this pandemic," the Head of Tourism Department of Bondowoso ended.(*)
