TIMES SINGAPORE, MAKKAH – After completing the three-day stay in Mina and performing the stoning of the devil (lontar jumrah), Hajj 2024 pilgrims will proceed with the next set of rituals: the ifadah tawaf, sa'i, and farewell tawaf (tawaf wada).

The Head of the Makkah Working Area, Khalilurrahman, has advised pilgrims to rest at their hotels upon returning to Makkah.

"Prioritize physical recovery before continuing with the next rituals," Khalilurrahman said in Makkah on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

"Ensure adequate rest and do not head directly to the Masjid al-Haram for the ifadah tawaf," he emphasized.

Khalil also reminded pilgrims to avoid strenuous activities such as repeated non-mandatory umrah or visits.

"Take care of your health and do not overexert yourself. We want all pilgrims to return to their home countries in good health," he added.

For the first wave of pilgrims returning home soon, Khalil reminded them to pay close attention to their departure schedules and ensure they have completed the ifadah tawaf and sa'i before leaving Makkah.

The same applies to the early groups of the second wave heading to Madinah.

"Be mindful of your departure schedule to either your home country or Madinah. Make sure the ifadah tawaf and sa'i are completed before leaving Makkah," Khalil advised.

Khalil explained that elderly, sick, weak, and high-risk pilgrims, as well as women who are menstruating, are exempt from the farewell tawaf and are not required to offer a sacrifice (dam).

"For healthy pilgrims of Hajj 2024 ithout any hindrances, it is recommended to perform the farewell tawaf no later than 12 hours before their scheduled departure," he stated. (*)

In conclusion, Khalilurrahman's guidance emphasizes the importance of rest and careful planning for pilgrims. By following these recommendations, pilgrims can ensure they complete their Hajj obligations in a state of physical and spiritual well-being, returning home safely and fulfilled. (*)
